VIDEO: White Trump supporter kicks black protester at rally today

A white supporter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump kicked a black protester at a Trump rally in Ohio today, and it was caught by MSNBC on film, though the network didn’t realize they captured the moment.

In the video below, you’ll see a young black man, in a backwards baseball cap, being escorted out of a Trump rally in Ohio this morning.

As the protester is being walked out, you’ll see on the far left a white woman in a dark blue baseball cap, light blue shirt, long brown ponytail, stick her foot out and kick or trip the protester, who immediately turns and (understandably) says something to her.

Here’s the woman to keep an eye out for:

Here’s the video clip:

At the same rally in Ohio today, Trump told the crowd: “It’s payback time!”

Interestingly, during his appearance in Ohio, Trump lamented the climate of division and hate in politics today. That was until the protest occurred, then Trump reverted to true form:

This is classic. Just happened. Trump is speaking in Ohio, talking about what a divided nation we are, and how sad it is…

This is only the latest violence inspired by Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump. And it comes on the heels of a number of fights that broke out at Trump’s rally in Chicago last night, that was canceled by Trump at the last minute.

Meanwhile, the other lead GOP presidential candidates, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, vaguely criticized Trump and his climate of violence this morning, while still refusing to repudiate their pledge to support Trump as the party’s candidate in the fall.

At some point, the Republican party is going to need to come to terms with the monster it created.

Donald trump is an angry man that violently assaulted Ivanna Trump by pulling her hair out and then forcefully disrobed her and raped her. She swore two affidavits to the factaul accuracy of this.

    We’ve missed you. I hope you’re healthy.

I hope you are right. But never underestimate the human capacity for stupidity and hatred. I am definitely increasingly worried that Trump could actually become elected Führer.

  10. There are. Though I’m in NYC. But as I learned the last year, no big salary and ridiculously good benefits can make up for the substance of the job. If you don’t love what you’re doing, the money and benefits will never be enough. The problem isn’t finding a job. It’s finding a job I like.

  11. Yes, I need to update folks on the little girl. This was yesterday at the waterfront :)

  17. MoonDragon says:

Rubio and Kasich can’t repudiate The Donald to the extent that they say they wouldn’t support him. If it comes down to a brokered convention that puts one of them at the top of the ticket, such a statement would be used by Trump to say “They broke the pledge first”, and then go off on an independent campaign and take his voters with him. Cruz will neither harshly repudiate nor declare an intention not to support Trump because, basically, he agrees with him. The only thing Cruz has against Trump is the fact that he’s more likely to be the nominee than Ted, at this moment.

Some fun comebacks this weekend. Trump is blaming Bernie supporters for the violence at Trump rallies in Chicago and elsewhere. Bernie called Trump “a pathological liar.” Hillary just described Trump’s incitement of violence as follows: “If you play with matches, you’re going to start a fire you can’t control. That’s not leadership. That’s political arson.” (Link to New York Times article here)

  20. Houndentenor says:

Welcome back John and Sasha. Feel free to post pics of Sash any time either here or on twitter. Lately I’ve been enjoying pics from the Cassini Saturn project and of dogs and otters to calm my nerves after reading the news. More Sasha, s’il vous plait.

  21. Houndentenor says:

Both parties have ignored the issues that confront most Americans for some time now. Or only dealt with them superficially. This anger has been festering for a long time.

  22. Houndentenor says:

I think you are probably right. The comparisons are being made too often even though the similarities are superficial. Germany in the 30s was a disaster and also there was no social pushback for attacking Jews. There certainly is for expressing racist views today. It’s really not the same and I’m a little tired of the hyperbole. Trump is indeed a problem and his followers are dangerous, but inflating those concerns not only doesn’t help anything but it also make the real issues easier to dismiss.

  23. Houndentenor says:

I am certainly as happy as anyone else to blame the GOP for almost 50 years of pandering to racists that got us to this point. But I’m not sure they have any idea what to do to fix this. If they did they’d have already done it.

  24. quax says:

Nice to see you posting again! The state of the nation is an ugly one, every voice of reason is most needed at times like these.

  25. FLL says:

At this point, both the Secret Service and local law enforcement are at a loss as to how to contain the violence at Trump rallies. Last night in Chicago, the street fighting at the corner of Van Buren and Racine was reminiscent of the political street fighting in pre-Nazi Berlin. The similarity, though, is superficial. Weimar Germany only had one little decade of experience with democracy, and since it was under the vindictive conditions that Britain and France insisted on at the end of WWI, democracy was linked in the minds of the German public with hard times. The United States, in contrast, has two and a half centuries of experience with constitutional democracy. Trump is going to get destroyed, either at the Republican convention in July or in the general election.

Jon Green’s incisive posts have been excellent. That being said, you’ve been missed a whole lot… not just by me, but I think by almost all the readers and commenters. Well, nothing in life is 100%. ;) I’m so glad to be able to read your posts again.

John, it’s great to hear from you again! Yippee!

  32. Unless the funding market for media changes, it will be temporary-ish. I still need to find a job that pays the bills, and pays the retirement contributions. But god I’ve missed this!

  33. Maybe. It depend what work I find. I’m not really making anything from the blog, that goes to Jon since he’s doing the lion’s share of the writing, and has been. So I need to find other work, or Ms. Sasha won’t be able to continue living in the manner to which she’s accustomed. Just depends what work I find, and where.

  34. Here’s here too!

  35. hauksdottir says:

    We’ve missed you!

I immediately thought of you last night when reading about Clinton’s praise of Nancy Reagan: of course, a theocrat will praise those monsters. (Someone who will let a *friend* die of such a horrible disease, while refusing help and support, is the worst kind of monster: a smiling one.) I lost friends to AIDS, and most of my friends lost people they cared about, while TPTB did nothing.

In an election year, national and international focus is on these candidates. Embarrassing slips of the tongue can happen when a speaker leaves the script. However, a mistake like this in a prepared speech reveals the bubble Clinton inhabits. She doesn’t speak unless the winds are blowing with her.

Politicians, speechwriters, consultants, and “media personalities” (I refuse to call them journalists) are wealthy and privileged and insulated from the very real problems that society faces. Some, like Trump, are protected from the problems they themselves create. He is drunk on attention and the power it gives him.

Even if you can only post occasionally, it is very good to know that you are keeping an eye on matters. This year is a tipping point. I was going to use the word “pivotal,” but the country is not just changing course. The violence and anger and resentment are rising, and societal structures are showing the strain. Just like our crumbling levees, pot-holed roads, and cracked bridges, American society is on the verge of being torn apart.

  40. Ol' Hippy says:

WE are witnessing a real moment of American history, a large portion of the citizens that aren’t happy with things as they are. We have wars, climate crisis, bad wages, and government controlled by large business interests and citizens without an effective voice anymore. Trump appeals to the lower class white bigots that have seen jobs leave the US for cheaper labor. Sanders appeals to people that know business controls things such as energy/defense companies and banking/financial industry. Something will shake lose from all of this but it remains to be seen what will eventually be left after this election cycle but the ride will be bumpy.
