This lady is proof why no one should ever vote Republican again (video)

There is no better evidence of the disease infecting the Republican party than Louisiana state Rep. Lenar Whitney, who is running for Congress this year.

Whitney, you see, is a climate-change-truther — and a birther to boot.

Lenar Whitney

Lenar Whitney

To her credit, Whitney is trying to jump-start her dead-in-the-water campaign by pulling a Palin. She figures if she says something crazy enough, she can get folks on the left to talk about her, and that this will buttress her support with the typical GOP base voters who tend to favor crazy.

And she’s probably right.

Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz (bottom right) lead "veterans" in protesting the Republicans own shutdown of the government.

Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz (bottom right) lead “veterans” in protesting the Republicans own shutdown of the government.

But the reason I don’t mind fanning Whitney’s flames is because people like her are going to be, are already proving to be, the death of the Republican party. The crazy runs deeps in the GOP base, and it’s a huge turn off to younger voters and Independents alike.

Whitney may fashion herself as the southern Sarah Palin, but keep in mind that Sarah Palin may have been the first vice presidential nominee in history to actually have an effect on the ticket. And in her case, she drove John McCain’s presidential aspirations into the mud.

So I say we give Lenar Whitney all the attention she wants. Show younger voters, and women, and Latinos, and African-Americans and gays, and everyone else who has eyes to see and ears to hear, exactly what has become of the Grand Old Party.

Then watch them vote for Democrats the rest of their lives.

Exactly. It boggles the mind that people like her don’t upset more people and get them to the poles to vote No to the stupid. Even if it’s to vote republican, we need to stop allowing knuckleheads like this ruin the country. It’s long past time for the GOP to end the madness. The country truly is at risk.

    In simpler terms, ugh?

In other words… Why are these people striving to become part of the problem?

    I’ve always wondered about that.

Here’s the political answer to what you said. As usual I’ll ignore the personal stuff.

Whenever I or others criticize Republicans there’s general agreement. But when I or others criticize Democrats, or their policies of supporting zionism or on the question of Ukraine, all hell breaks loose, and mainly from those who say they’re not Democrats. Don’t expect me or anyone else to back down now, or later, when it’s likely that Republicans will effectively control both houses and leftists criticize them.

  7. Mike_in_the_Tundra says:

Your lack of self-awareness is unbelievable. You have totally convinced yourself that you won’t be drawn into spats. I obviously don’t agree with that. I rather doubt that heimaey, FLL, Silver_Witch, Naja pallida, or emjayjay would agree with that. You always have to have the last word, too.

I have already had to write one dissertation in my life, so I will not write another one by trying to respond to all of your post. However, you immediately showed that you really don’t know the difference between facts and assertions. You stated as fact that Hillary Clinton was a sociopath. Are you a psychiatrist who has worked with her for a year or so? If you are, you may be able to say that Hillary is a sociopath. However, it is my understanding that most psychiatrists are unwilling to make sociopath a diagnosis.

It is my belief that a majority of politicians are sociopaths. However, I do know that is not a fact.

Compromise with Democrats or Republicans = wars of aggression, union busting, poverty, unemployment, underemployment, low wages, the worlds worst health care system and border racism? It equals attacks on the Bill of Rights and the extralegal murder of Arab and muslim Americans.

Which of those things do you think I should compromise on and support by voting or working for Democrat or Republican candidates or office holders?

  10. Bill_Perdue says:

Here’s the political answer you asked for. I won’t be drawn into personal spats. As for Hillary Clinton, the facts are clear. H Clinton is a sociopath – a union buster, a reactionary religious panderer, a rebranded bigot.

Hillary Clinton is a right wing christer loon.

She’s a graduate of the Wal-Mart school of union busting and scabbery. She sat on the Wal-Mart board of directors for six years while Bill Clinton was using the office of Governor of Arkansas to spread the influence of Wal-Mart across the country. Later, by championing and signing NAFTA, he helped Wal-Mart infest the world.

The Clintons are subsidized by Wal-Mart through Wal-Marts
contributions’ to the Clinton Foundation and speaking fees that can go for
$200,000.00 a shot. It’s the corporations way of saying thank you for NAFTA, DOMA, DADT and deregulation. Chelsea Clinton is the Vice Chair of Clinton Foundation. It’s the family business scam.

Hillary Clintons political role in the 2008 primaries shifted from being HRH Hillary Clinton to a mean spirited race baiter as Obama surged ahead in the polls. She played the race card against Obama every chance she got.

She’s a venomous and destructive warmonger in the tradition of Bill Clinton and the Bushes. She played Ribbentrop to Obama’s efforts to attack Palestine, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Bahrain (regional base of the US and U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and United States Fifth
Fleet) and Afghanistan. She was a key player in Obama’s effort to play out the occupation of Iraq until the US was forced out by Iraqi threats to indict US military and mercenary forces for war crimes.

She and Obama were enraged when Chelsea Manning exposed their role as war criminals and empire builders. Chelsea Manning was tortured and jailed. Chelsea Manning should have gotten medals and the Nobel Peace Prize for her heroism.

The left couldn’t ask for a better object lesson in the utter senselessness and assured destructiveness of the right wings version of the twin lesser evil in the persons of Hillary Clinton and or whoever the Republicans put up.

All of that is readilyu available on the web. I can’t imagine why it escaped your attention. If you think those facts are unimportant that’s one thing but denying them is another.

  11. Mike_in_the_Tundra says:

Thanks for proving my point. You really don’t want to think about what others are saying. I said I’m progressive, and you interpreted that as me saying I was a Democrat. I am not a Democrat. I’m much closer to being a socialist than a Democrat. You were so wrapped up in your own ideas, you seemed unable to think about what I was saying.

What really makes me uncomfortable is your seeming inability to differentiate between assertions and facts. Here is part of one of your posts: “H Clinton is a sociopath – a union buster, a reactionary religious panderer, a rebranded bigot”. Are you able to recognize which one of those are facts and which are assertions? Do you care to? When my husband and I had heated discussions, he many times told me to stop confusing things with facts and logic. Perhaps that is what you think too.

  12. heimaey says:

    Well put.

  13. noland_abc says:

Why are idiots like this, who are so opposed to ‘big government’ yet, willing to sell their first born to become a part of that same ‘big government’? Also, if the government doesn’t create jobs then, for whom are they working and who’s paying them? Remember, the unit “We the people” is the government. If they hate ‘big government’ so much, why not find another job, instead of the very thing they claim to hate?

  14. Naja pallida says:

It’s hard to have a rational conversation with someone stuck in an echo chamber, only listening to the sound of their own voice, blocking out anything remotely resembling reality. Utterly rejecting any notion of compromise, which is necessary for a functioning government. It’s just the exact flip side of the coin to the Republicans in Congress, willing to alienate anyone – including those who would otherwise agree – just to declare it’s their way or no way.

  15. heimaey says:

Where are the facts though? You just spout that they’re sociopaths because they did something you don’t agree with. Do I find it disgusting that Hilary supported the invasion of Iraq? Yes. Do I think she’s a unstoppable sociopath trying to destroy our country? No. They’re politicians. They lie. They cheat. And we call them out on it when we can and try to get them to change. Put up one of your socialist candidates up here and I be you they’ve done something pretty awful.

  16. Bill_Perdue says:

I’m a socialist and a leftist and will never defend or promote Democrats or Republicans.

  17. emjayay says:

Glenn or Rush said it so it is true without question.

  18. emjayay says:

Certainly not a plus, but no Sarah. All most people probably noticed was that he let Dick Cheney play charming grandpa in their debate. And some noticed he was very Jewish, but they already weren’t going to vote for Gore.

  19. emjayay says:

    Weather isn’t climate of course.

  20. emjayay says:

I’m glad others have finally joined in with me on this (whether you know you joined in on anything or not!).

  21. emjayay says:

Actually, a full facelift includes the neck area. She either got a partial or none. Maybeupper and lower blepharoplasty only.

  22. Houndentenor says:

Same here. It’s not worth the effort. If someone brings something up I might but I’m certainly not volunteering. It’s wasted energy that could be spend on something productive.

  23. Naja pallida says:

…and Eric Cantor takes a page from the Sarah Palin “unable to fulfill responsibilities” playbook and has decided to quit his job early, because he just couldn’t take the shame of being relegated to the back bench, and of course, wants to get a head start on his lobbyist career.

  24. Mike_in_the_Tundra says:

The statistics mentioned are probably based on worldwide temperatures. I live in Minnesota where the temperatures have been below normal for quite awhile. However, the cold seems to be the result of Arctic warming.

  25. Bill_Perdue says:

My comments are political, including the fact that Democrats are Republicans and that neither are part of the left.

My comments are loaded with facts to prove that. Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. I won’t be drawn into personal spats with Democrats.

  26. FLL says:

The plan is to “trick” all those stupid progressives and liberals into never voting for any candidate whose name actually appears on the ballot, hence Bill’s avatar (“NONE of the above”). Then Republicans would win. Bill’s motive? Either the “Stockholm Syndrome” theory or the “bad seed” theory. (See my reply to you above.)

  27. FLL says:

Earlier on, I thought that Bill had been treated badly by bigoted Christian parents who disdained him as a child for being “gender non-conforming,” and then he simply identified with his oppressors—a sort of Stockholm Syndrome. Now I’m more inclined to go with the more amusing “bad seed” theory, according to which Bill absolutely terrorized his hapless parents when he was a child.

  28. FLL says:

In terms of cosmetic surgery, there seems to be a huge disconnect between Lenar’s face and her neck—almost as if someone used Photoshop to cut and paste her surgery-tightened face onto her grandmother’s neck. Very unnerving.

  31. heimaey says:

But you’re not discussing you’re just saying that democrats suck over and over. And no one cares or is listening. That’s the definition of insanity.

  32. Bill_Perdue says:

You still don’t understand. I want to discuss politics. Bye.

  36. 1jetpackangel says:

Where do you live? Because this is the first time I can remember ever when we’ve had about a couple of weeks straight of temps barely into the 90s in July/August. (It might’ve even been stuck in the 70s once or twice.) It seems to only get stupid-hot for a few hours in the afternoon here in Kentucky, which is very unusual, because I live in a geographical depression only 300 feet above sea level and surrounded by wetlands, so it’s always humid as hell. It’s been getting into the 50s at night. In July. I’m pretty sure I remember last summer, cranking the A/C up and still being too hot to sleep with even a sheet over me. (I think I also seem to recall wanting to wear shorts once or twice during the winter.)

Our weather may not be getting warmer in SOME places, but I think we can all agree that this train is starting to wobble on its tracks more than a little.

  37. 1jetpackangel says:

I forget where I heard it, but sometime ago I was told that the only person Mitt Romney had shown his tax returns to was John McCain… who immediately turned around and chose Sarah Palin.

Just another Republican hack, but the biggest political story in my lifetime, and an enjoyment for me, is the knowledge that I share with all is, that John McCain could have been elected President of the United States but for one small misstep, Sarah Palin, who in my estimation gave the nation the biggest present ever, a Jon McCain Presidency, for which I thank her whole heartedly. And every day, till the day he dies, he knows this was his largest mistake ever, but then, his whole career has been nothing but a well constructed lie, so, John, if you are reading this, you are welcome.
