Trump adviser suggests Trump wants Hillary executed for treason

An adviser to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested today that Donald Trump agrees with him that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton should be shot for treason, or perhaps electrocuted in the chair.

The adviser, Al Baldasaro, is a Trump delegate and co-chair of Trump’s veterans coalition, and appeared with Trump recently to rebut allegations that Trump has stiffed veterans groups on millions of promised donations.

Baldasaro said the following on Tuesday to Cleveland radio station WRKO:

Talking about the raid on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11, 2012, Baldasaro said Clinton “is a disgrace. The lies she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi … She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting backup, security. Something’s wrong there.”

“This whole thing disgusts me,” Baldasaro said. “Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”

Baldasaro then repeated the statements to WMUR on Wednesday, making clear he wasn’t simply speaking metaphorically:

“I’m a military man first, and anyone who takes information about our CIA or Secret Service and people at our embassy and puts it out on a server where anyone can grab it, putting Americans in danger to be killed, should be held accountable.”

“As far as I’m concerned it is treason and the penalty for treason is the firing squad – or maybe it’s the electric chair now,” Baldasaro said.

Now Alexandra Jaffe at NBC reports that when asked if he thinks Trump agrees with him that Hillary should be put to death, Baldasaro pointed to Trump’s earlier comments that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl should have been executed for leaving his post in Afghanistan:

“We’re tired of Sgt. Bergdahl, who’s a traitor, a no-good traitor, who should have been executed,” Trump said to cheers at a rowdy rally inside a packed Las Vegas theater at the casino-hotel Treasure Island.

In other words, Trump agrees, per Baldasaro, about killing Hillary. Here’s Hillary’s campaign tweeting about it:

Here’s Trump appearing with Baldasaro two months ago. If you saw the event live, you’ll recognize Baldasaro. His tone was jarring.

I have said all along that Donald Trump is mentally ill and is a danger to himself and others. Anyone who is in Trump’s environment need to be extremely careful.

  2. slacker42 says:

Since Adolf Trump has actually committed treason, shouldn’t he execute himself, or allow that thing on his head devour him?

if they are going to execute everyone they don’t like, they are going to need a much betteer system than a firing squad. maybe something more automated like a beltdriven ride through a gas chamber. With todays automated systems, it could run 7×24 until all those pesky libs and darkies were turned to fertilizer.

Does he realize that the white nationalism that Trump champions is directed right at people like him. Does he think that being a veteran gives a black man immunity? He is sadly mistaken. How has Trumps nomination empowered white nationalists you ask. David Duke praised Trump’s speech last night and said, “I couldn’t have said it better!” Today he threw his hat in the ring for Senate from Louisiana

Cool. When is the last time we executed anyone for treason in this country?

    Election hysteria is fun.

Hit the nail on the head. Friggin Nazis. For real.

I think George Will has been proven correct. This is not the party of anyone but David Duke and the KKK these days. They might as well rename themselves the We Hate America and All She Stands For Party. Nothing ‘grand’ about it.

The killingS of the abortion doctorS.

As I recall , it wasn’t 3 months after Obama took office that the wingnuts began calling the Iraq debacle ,”Obama’s” war. They try as hard as they can to run from their mess and with the rubes out there , that’s fine. I think what we have to realize is that the people who are for Trump really don’t care. It is no longer about “We the People” , they have been fed so much hatred and taken it so willingly that threatening to murder Mrs. Clinton will be met with quite a few , “Damn right” comments.
To them it isn’t about who governs , its about who rules. And in the eyes of the rightwingers all is fair.

Heck, remember when just saying you were ashamed the president claimed your home state as your own was doubleplusungood?

We’ve sure gone from a bunch of people having a good time about locking up the political opposition to outright murder in a big hurry, didn’t we? I wonder if Gov. Christie will favor us all with this amazing mind-reading abilities to tell us what Mr. Baldasaro really meant. I’ll bet it’s knee-slappingly hilarious.

Just waiting for the first Conservative sycophant to throw out the “Oh, it was just a joke. He was just having fun; he didn’t REALLY mean it” excuse…

We might just have finally hit bottom, but I’m not getting my hopes up…..

  17. BeccaM says:

“The lies she told those mothers about their children–”

Can you imagine a more condescending, paternalistic, and borderline misogynistic phrasing? These weren’t children who were killed in Libya, but grown adults. And I’m pretty sure they had fathers, too. And some may have even had spouses and children of their own.

That phrase up there is the language of jingoism. Propaganda. Violence baiting.

And if Trump agrees with Baldasaro that Clinton should be summarily executed, that’s as fascist as it gets.

  18. Naja pallida says:

Except the Nazis were impeccably organized, and always strongly on message. This is just an angry mob that happens to be fascist.

  19. Uncle Luie says:

Maybe they hope that if they say it enough some crackpot will try to commit the act, just like the killing of the abortion doctor.

  20. Quilla says:

Has the Secret Service paid this douche bag a visit yet?

Cheeses. These times are far too interesting.

  21. keirmeister says:

Remember when this kind of talk was beyond the pale?

Remember when Shirley Sherrod was fired for saying far less (and it was taken out of context anyway)? Remember when Van Jones was fired from the Obama administration?

These folks didn’t call for the death of anybody, but Hillary is so “evil” that this is acceptable?

IOKIYAR. Gotta love that double standard.

Can you say Nazi – I can. They sure look and sound like Nazis to me.
