Giuliani: Trump supporters would cheer Trump’s call to assassinate Hillary

In perhaps the worst attempt ever at damage control, Donald Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani attempted to defendĀ Trump’s call yesterday for Hillary Clinton to be assassinated.

Giuliani told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that had Trump actually called for Hillary to be assassinated, the crowd would have gone wild.

Wait, what?

Here’s a short clip of the longer ABC interview:

Here’s the key Giuliani quote:

“You know how speeches go. He was talking about how they [gun rights advocates] have the power to keep her out of office. That’s what he was talking about,” he added. “With a crowd like that, if that’s what they thought he’d meant, they’d have gone wild.”

In other words, Giuliani says Trump supporters would love for TrumpĀ to call for Hillary’s death.

With a crowd like that, the Secret Service is going to be awfully busy.

Which also calls into question whether a crowd like that should ever be able to own a gun.
