Fox’s Megyn Kelly crushes Gingrich over Trump sexual assault claims

Holy cow. I’m still laughing. Fox News’ Megyn Kelly had Newt Gingrich on a few moments ago, and Gingrich went bonkers, and Kelly slammed him down.

Gingrich was upset that Kelly was reporting on the women who have accused Donald Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct.

Gingrich told Kelly: “You are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy.”

Then Gingrich just kept continually invoking Bill Clinton, and daring Kelly to call President Clinton “a sexual predator.”

The segment concluded with Kelly telling Gingrich the following:

We’re gonna have to leave it at that. And you can take your anger issues, and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker.

You have to watch this.

Oh Newtie. Bill Clinton was not “disbarred”. He was given a five year SUSPENSION for giving “misleading testimony” in a civil deposition. Of course one must note that making a “misleading statement” in a civil deposition is not the same as the crime of perjury which it intentionally and knowingly lying under oath. Perjury, of course, requires non ambiguity in any question or answer to support a criminal charge. So what Bill Clinton was given a suspension for by the Arkansas Bar was his attempt to keep his private, consensual relationship with Monica Lewinsky private. To do this, he made misleading statements but not such as would rise to the level of perjury. And, indeed, Monica Lewinsky was ruled as an immaterial witness in that lawsuit which Bill Clinton won. When all the evidence was in, the case went to Summary Judgement for the defendant, Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton was not REQUIRED by the Court to pay anything to Paula Jones. She lost the case. Bill Clinton won the case. But Ken Starr had broken into that case and was using the misleading statements Bill Clinton had made to keep a private relationship private as a pretext for impeachment proceedings. Paula Jones, though she had lost her lawsuit, could still appeal. Bill Clinton’s lawyers offered her a ‘settlement’ to basically make her go away and not harass them further with an appeal when they were now faced with impeachment proceedings to defend against. This was a voluntary settlement paid by Bill Clinton for Paula Jones to give up her right of appeal of the DISMISSAL OF HER LAWSUIT. Nothing more. It was ‘just going’ money.
As to “penalty” payments. Oh my. The Newtie does remember for I certainly do, that Newt Gingrich was required to pay a $300,000 fine imposed by the House Ethics Committee for making….wait for it….MISLEADING statements in his financial filings while Speaker of the House. I also remember Newt Gingrich giving a news conference as he dumped the salacious Starr ‘report’ which gave a blow by blow account of the private and consensual relations between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky out onto the internet so that the press and the public could salivate over it for months.

  2. Houndentenor says:

I’d want way more that 10K to have sex with Trump! Yes, she had a right to turn him down. And btw, that solicitation was illegal.

  3. Houndentenor says:

    Composer? LOL

  4. Houndentenor says:

He’s not a criminal. He’s a flawed man who ran the country well. The 90s are my generation’s good old days.

  5. Houndentenor says:

I know how you feel. I can’t say I like her, but I do have some respect for her. When she decides to do a smack down she is quick and effective.

  6. MrUniteUs1 says:

What Newt Gingrich’s wives tell us about the president he’d be http://wpo.st/5rY82

    Fascinated with sex and cheating.

  7. keirmeister says:

I have a love-hate relationship with Megyn Kelly. I’ll give her credit though: girlfriend knows how to do a slap-down.

The problem, of course, is her quasi championing of “women’s concerns”….but she’s at Fox News, a.k.a., The House that Ailes built.

  8. keirmeister says:

To me it looked like Gingrich had no argument, so he tried to fling crap elsewhere. Kelly kept her calm and essentially told him to “suck it” at the end.

  9. The Butterfly says:

Was I watching the same clip? It seems to me that Newt got the better of this situation and embarrassed Kelly.

  10. Merle Kessler says:

What a swell guy Newt is then.

  11. Robin Salvadori Allison says:

For me to have sex with Trump, the 10K would have had to have at least 3 more zeros. In advance. Someone else I might have done for free. To vote for Trump, add another zero and I’ll consider it.

  12. Demosthenes says:

Why isn’t it ever noted by the MSM (including Fox “News”) that the Donald’s biggest enablers are thrice married adulterers? (Gingrich & Guiliani)

  13. Hugh Everett says:

Well, it’s good to see you finally admitting Bill’s a criminal, but you shouldn’t have voted for him in the 90s.

  14. That settles it. I’m not voting for Bill this time around.

  15. Randy Riddle says:

I think what she wanted to say was “And you can take your anger issues and stick them where the moon don’t shine.”

  16. Houndentenor says:

No one here said she was on her deathbed. No one. Yes, sometimes that story has gotten inflated but no one did it here.

    You’re a progressive defending Gingrich?

  17. Houndentenor says:

Yes, I have a problem with serving divorce papers while your spouse is in the hospital. that was cruel.

  18. UncleBucky says:

Wow. We are seeing the GOP literally shred itself to pieces before our eyes.

The entire GOP Presidential Primary Candidates, each had their moment of implosion or beaching like whales: Jebya, Rev. Carson, “Bridge” Christie, Rev. Cruz, Fiorin0 (sic), Gilmore, Huckleberry, Kasich, Paul A. Rand, Little Marco, and Sanctorum.

The GOP Nominee: Self-immolation, it seems: tRUMP.

And various and sundry surrogates: Giuliano, the Newtster, David KKK Duke, Phil Duck Dynasty, LaPeterissmall, Ann Adam’s Apple Coulter, Wayne Newton, Sarah Moose Palin, Limpbolt, Paul “Rip Down Murals” LePage, Sheriff Joe, Nudge, Rodman, Jan Brewja, Clint Westwood, Slanthead, Buchanan, Cheeny, and a bunch of dead or soon to depart this world troublemakers.

Each one is just exploding or splattering…. And the GOPers who remain? What ages are they? What likely party could they piece together?

  19. Quilla says:

We’re talking about Newt Gingrich here, right? Not the Trump Troll…?

  20. Sk3ptic says:

Hardly discredited. In his own words, from Snopes:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.

“The honest answer is yes,” Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”

Guess the Google machine’s too hard for some clueless idiots to use.

  21. MichaelG says:

He looked FOOLISH and Meghan Kelly owned him in that piece.

  22. MichaelG says:

I disagree. The Repubs love denying their ugly acts.He is a fat, ugly liar just like his idol, Trump

  23. David Massie says:

Your misogyny is showing, of course women can be used for sex and would never refuse money from a stud like Trump.

  24. David Massie says:

There is a huge difference between consensual sex acts and assault. That you fail to understand that difference illustrates the issue perfectly.

  25. David Massie says:

So “Recovering from cancer surgery” means “on her deathbed”? The only stupidity is yours.

  26. Neal Broverman says:

He just said the same thing back to her, like a child. Reminiscent of when Hillary called Trump a puppet and he shouted back, ‘You’re a puppet!” Weak.

  27. Neal Broverman says:

As Megyn tried to point out, Bill is not running for president.

  28. Neal Broverman says:

Seriously, should Newt be throwing stones?

  29. She was very professional.

  30. True, but a decent man wouldn’t service his wife divorce papers while she’s in the hospital for cancer. But decent is very subjective now a days when we have lost our moral compass.

  31. Grokenstein says:

    Sure thing, brah.
That’s why you’re running up and down the thread peeing everywhere like an excited chihuahua in defense of Newt Gingrich; because you’re progressive.

  32. HandsomeMrToad says:

    Megyn = “Me gyn” = “I am a vgina”

  33. Steve Loeb says:

    You think? She was outraged

  34. Steve Loeb says:

Wrong fake story – they were already in a divorce procedure. This is an old discredited story but carry on keep spreading it around just makes you look like a clueless idiot

  35. Steve Loeb says:

No one should have to stay married if they are miserable.

  36. Steve Loeb says:

Fake story … but thats OK you just bought into some lame democrat myth – nothing that doesn’t seem consistent.

“Q: Did Newt Gingrich ask his former wife to sign divorce papers on her deathbed?

A: No. Jackie Battley is still alive, and the couple was already in divorce proceedings at the time of the 1980 hospital visit. But she was recovering from surgery to remove a tumor, and the former House speaker admits that they “got into an argument.”

Sad … the stupidity here is breath taking … but I guess thats why you swallowed the Clinton garbage from the most dishonest and unqualified candidate ever – but she does have a vagina and did wait her turn so I guess she does have some qualifications. Joke

  37. Steve Loeb says:

You have a problem with men who fall in and out of love and marry? Who cares how many marriages he had or anyone has? When did that become a problem? What century is it?

  38. Yeah, but she wasn’t angry :)

  39. Steve Loeb says:

Hardly – he was spot on. She looked at him horrified that he would dare expose her Imagine a porn star that turned down 10K to have sex? How insane is that notion? Trump is poison but the Arkansas grifters who collude with the press, destroy women, hire the man who put Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court by smearing Anita Hill are what? Ethical? You’ve been bamboozled. Completely naive or very very stupid

  40. This speaks volumes about Newt Gingrich and his concern about women. The way he treated Kelly, was disgusting. But I guess 3x married men have to stick together. They tire of their wives, and in Newt’s case when she has cancer, and move on to the next one. Disgusting.

  41. Steve Loeb says:

So you think I’m a conservative? I worked for this dismal failure of a President – I put on events and raised money and I voted for him twice – you stupid liberals don’t even understand what a real progressive or liberal is – you are nothing but a bunch of clueless walking dead who have completely lost the plot … keep sleep walking zombies and leave the serious stuff to those of us who actually care about this country. Don’t believe me – google me and see who I am. I’m not the lawyer Loeb – I’m the composer, musician producer Loeb – I was a progressive before you were out of diapers

  42. Steve Loeb says:

OMG are you serious? There can NEVER EVER EVER be anything seriously CONSENSUAL with a boss and an employee much less a POTUS and an intern. There’s a power dynamic there that transcends ALL of it. An intern or employee always knows that underneath it all – she or he’s out of work and career if he or she refuses

  43. Hugh Everett says:

They talked about sexual assault? Like Bill invading Juanita’s safe space, and then asking Paula to “kiss it”?

Those are felony crimes in most states.

  44. Houndentenor says:

It’s a waste of time to try to explain consent to a conservative.

  45. (((GodWatchingYou))) says:

What Bill did with an intern was consensual. Why is that so hard for you to get. And Trump didn’t merely say it, he did it.

  46. MichaelG says:

Yes, she was hospitalised and recovering from cancer surgery when he served her divorce papers. And then I believed he wanted an open marriage with one of his wives so she told him to fuck off. What a hypocritical PIG.

  47. MichaelG says:

Oh calm down. Gingrich acted like a dementia-ridden old dolt who kept repeating himself. An embarrassment. He handed no one their head. Meghen make him look like the FOOL that he was! Trump is poison and the only way he will EVER make America Great again is by losing this election BIG (which he will) and taking the rest of the Republican Party down with him. Good riddance.

  48. He didn’t just tell her he wanted a divorce, according to her, he actually gave her the divorce papers in the hospital.

  49. Sk3ptic says:

    One and the same!

  50. Houndentenor says:

Isn’t Gingrich the one who told his wife he wanted a divorce while she was in the hospital being treated for cancer? Was that the first wife or the second? I forget.

  51. Steve Loeb says:

Kelly was handed her head by Gingrich for failing to explain to Americas the difference between what Bill Clinton DID in the WH to an intern versus what Trump merely said – but Americans are sending Bill back to the WH for a whole NEW crop of interns to play with? My God …. what hypocrisy

  52. Steve Loeb says:

And he told her to work on hers

  53. Tinare says:

Megan Kelly told the former Speaker of the House to “work on his anger issues.” Love it!

  54. MichaelG says:

Good Lord he is one piece of annoying stinking shite. Despise that self-righteous, ugly Ghord.
