Trump found someone even less qualified than Giuliani for Sec of State: Nikki Haley

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you someone even less qualified than Rudy Giuliani to be America’s next Secretary of State: Nikki Haley, the governor of South Carolina.

MSNBC reports that Trump is now considering Halley for Secretary of State when she has zero foreign policy experience.

As David Rothkopf, the CEO and Editor of Foreign Policy, just noted on MSNBC: “Here is somebody with no foreign policy experience at all…. A degree in accounting, went into the fashion business, became a local legislator, went on to be a governor…. Foreign policy is not a part of her job, it hasn’t been a part of her life.”

Trump thinks the Secretary of State position, and perhaps every cabinet position, is like filling an ambassadorship to, say, Paris, where you give it as a gift to someone who helped you a lot on the campaign, rather than making the appointment based on actual merit.

But this is the Secretary of State we’re talking about.

These are the top positions in the White House and every agency.

These are the people who are going to be running our government.

You don’t hand the keys to the country to your kids, which Trump is now doing. Trump asked for security clearances for his kids, which simply is not done — it is none of Ivanka’s business to be informed of Top Secret foreign policy decisions in between using her dad’s presidency to hawk $10,000 broaches on QVC.

You don’t ask your daughter’s husband, Jared Kushner, to effectively run the transition based on who may, or may not, have ticked off his crooked jailhouse father.

And you don’t put a white supremacist enabler in the top strategy job at the White House.

Speaking of which, I marvel that Kushner, who is Jewish, has a problem with Chris Christie running the transition (Kushner reportedly had Christie fired as the head of the transition, since Christie sent Kushner’s dad to jail); but not a public peep from Kushner about Steve Bannon, who is tied to the Alt Right, being chosen to be top strategist at the White House.

Whose dad do you have to tick off to get people fired around here? Oh that’s right, Jared’s.
